i carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)

Hi, I'm Alison!

This is (pretty obviously) my first blog post. I'm sort of crafty and like poetry and acting and food and neopets and tea and things. This is me. Sanity is questionable.

Regardless, I saw similar gloves to these the other day and figured they'd be extremely simple to make. So here's my first how-to, and I hope someone gets some sort of inspiration from it.

Valentine's Day (or whatever) Heart Gloves

These are super easy. All you need is:
scissors
fabric (soft works best, or felt)
gloves (you can get these for like $1 at CVS)
sewing string
[and] a sewing needle

Cut a rectangle out of the fabric roughly the size of the glove palms, and place the gloves palms-up on the ground or table or wherever:

And then free-cut that into a heart:

Cut that heart in half:

And sew each half onto each glove, being careful not to accidentally sew the front and back of the glove to each other:

And tah dah! I can't really get any great pictures of me wearing them because my hands aren't free and holding my them out straight in front of me causes the heart halves to be on the wrong sides, but here's the finished product.
